How do I tell motor years?

I read here that the later OHV 4.0 had a composite (plastic) intake and the older ones had cast. What was the switch year?

Well, 91-92 had a full cover over the engine that said 4.0 EFI, The 93-94 Had a half cover that said nothing, The 95+ had a plastic top piece....That should be a easy way to spot the older ones.
