What is everyone's opinion of how mods on your Explorers affect the resale value of the vehicle?

you will get more for your trade in without mods. as for selling your vehicle yourself, it depends...if youre selling a 93 mustang gt 5 speed to a 17 year old kid, hes gonna want all kinds of crap done to it. but i think as far as suv's go, you will get more without mods. if i ever sold my truck by myself (meaning, no trade in) i would get rid of all my mods, unless i mention them and person likes them, then i try to get more $$ out of that person.

just my $0.02

ya i think some people dont want a borla or stuff like that cuz its loud and stuff i think people want a plain suv without all the mods. thats like the general public, i'm sure you could find a suv enthusiast who would like all the mods, but that would be extremely tough

ya, mods lower resale, but that hasn't stopped me.. the way I figure it.. do what you want, and worry about the resale when yer done. If yer like me, you don't have plans to mod a car yer gonna sell anytime soon. If I do come to selling this veihicle, I'm gonna remove all my mods, put it back to stock, sell the truck and sell the mods seperate.. I should be able to make a good bit of my mod money back at least heh

I guess I should save all my stock parts just in case.

Config,
Are you thinking about selling it? Take the mods off, you can sell them here.
I have so much invested into my truck that I could never get out what I put into it. I however do not plan on ever selling my truck. It will always be a work in progress. Right now I'm trying to figure out a way to go coil over and get rid of the torsion bars. I know I could go live axle, but that would be too easy.

Ray,
I wasn't really thinking about selling it but it did come to mind and me and my wife had to make a decision which vehicle to take overseas. The government will only pay for shipping for one vehicle and since we're leaving for Italy in the next few months and we've decided to take the Explorer instead of her minivan. I'm happy :)

Well, I'm glad you made the right decision. Going to Italy huh?
You can let us know how the trails are over there.

yo ray, what kind rims were those again and where'd ya buy them, i'm so interested!
