ok well im pretty sure i need new shocks because they havent been changed still the stocks ones, anyways when im going around turns and all it rocks back and front alot, i know that its gonna do that no matter what but it kinda does its alot, what else can i look for so i know for sure that i need new shocks....

anyways what kinds should i get????

thanks alot

Ones that fit.. Most people use Rancho 5000's series, I plan on changing mine soon cause I noticed how much my I bounced around during a most recent trip wheeling.. Ranchos, Bilstein, and all the other ones will work.. just make sure you don't get the cheap ones..

Well from what you are describing i would say, yes, you do need new shocks. Being a 93 and still stock i would change the shocks. A quick way to tell if they are done, is to bounce the vehicle on each end then let go and count how many times it bounces before it stops. If it is more than 2, the shocks need replacement. The rear will be kind of hard to tell because it will come back up and stop normally, unless they are absolutely destroyed, but if you want to really improve the ride get new shocks. But get shocks that suite your lifestyle, if you offroad get shocks that are made for it. If not then get shocks for ride quality. Eg:I have a 91 XL and just put monroe sensatracs on all around, for now i don't do much offroading so i went with a shock that will work on road. Next year i will lift the truck and increase tire size and use it for offroading, at which time i will replace the shocks with Rancho 9000's. So it all depends on what you use the truck for too. For a first gen, i would recommend, (and this is my opinion is all) Monroe reflex in the front and Sensatracs in the rear, if you don't do much offroading. Sorry for the novel here. Later.
