2002 Explorer Sport Trac
I have a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. My clutch petal is real spongy and when I removed the cap off of the clutch master cylinder reservoir it was empty. I filled it up and it sucked it down so I filled it up again and now it stays full but I know I need to bleed it.
i am not the smartest person so I am not sure where I need to go to bleed this and how I need to do this.
Does anyone have any instructions they can send me please.

Thanks,
Susan

I Googled "bleed clutch slave cylinder" and it gave me lots of options. Here is one showing a 2001 Ford Ranger, got to figure it is about the same. Otherwise you can Google it too...the internet is your friend...

Thanks! This helps

Glad to do it, come back and let us know how you did, we all share in the joy of "fixing it yourself".

It turned out that my clutch master cylinder has no bleeder but we did find one on the slave cylinder. It took about 3 rounds of bleeding it but now I have my clutch petal back and the I am able to shift into each gear now without any problems. Before when I pushed my clutch in it wasn't completely disengaging. While I was driving, I would just get up to speed and it would go into gear easier. It is working great now and I am very happy. I am not sure where I have a leak at yet. That is going to take more investigations. Right now I am happy to have things working good again.

Way to go, it's pretty fun when you can fix it yourself. Thanks for checking back in, we like to hear your successful stories!
