Most of my lift brackets have been welded to the frame for support. I am replacing my extd radius arms and realized that my shock mount on the old radius arm is welded on. How do I go about gettting it off? Air chisel or cutting torch or what? Can I use a cold chisel and bust the weld? I have no torch or air chisel to use just a hammer and chisel. I guess I could take them somewhere if needed.

Edit: Oh and they are bolted on with a single bead weld on the top edge.

Cutting torch, sawzall, or grinder would be my suggestions.

Oh, forgot I have a dremel that I used to cut some metal off before. Will take some time but it will work I hope.

Growing up I watched my father use a big hammer and a chisel to break apart a welded iron. Now a days I would just go with a cutting disc- air powered ones if you have.

I decided to try my dremel first and see what I get, maybe even hammer and chisel, then I will take them to a buddies house and use his air grinder.
