you just gotta reach up there. Might be helpful to pull off the passenger inner fender. To take the O2 sensor out, you need a ..... 15/16" wrench I believe.... They are VERY hard to get out.... the heat from the exhaust and corrosion will basically weld them to the y-pipe

they were loose but i put them back in because i cant get to the connector. its way up there. ive done O2 sensors before and usually the connector is real close to it. it just seams impossible too get at

i just did the back one on my Explorer , you just have to look at the new one to see where the little tab is you have to press as you pull the wire connectors apart,,

i can see it but its all the way up at the block. i tugged on it a lil but not too hard as too break it and it wont come down ill snap a picture tomorrow hopefully. i cant even get my hand up there its like a 1 inch slot.

use a long screwdriver and pull on the wires, the sensor you took out is no good anyways, and the other side is in that clip, so give it a good pull,

When I did mine, I got under the truck and removed the sensor from the exhaust pipe. Then I went topside, armed with a coat hanger with a hook on the end, snagged the wire and pulled it up far enough to disconnect the connector. It's a little time consuming getting the new one back down there, but it can be done. Make sure you route the wire back in the original position, or you'll melt it.
