I have a set of ford aluminum CHROMED cobra R rims.
I am planning on lifting my truck and instead of bying new rims I was thinking about going with the Pro-Comp Muds 33x12.5-R17's
I am just worried about my rims getting messed up by the salt... they are full aluminum mustang rims that are chromed.

anyone have problems with salt and chrome rims on thier explorers?

thanks for an info of advice

Marc

oh god, and I'm going to the beach this summer too.. I HOPE they stand up against salt!!

My friend had chrome rims on his Mustang and left them on all winter long, through the snow and when they plowed and stuff, and now all the chrome has worn off. I know if you dont keep up with them then they will get ruined. Most people I know take off the chromes for the winter and put the aluminum ones on.

I live in cleveland so i feel your pain!! In high school we used to apply a real thin coat of bearing grease(not so much as to spin off) to the entire face of the wheel. It was a pain in the ass, but we were cool then..right??
