First, cut the adapter plates: MDF 1.5cm. I sandwiched two pieces I had at hand. Also used the angled original spacers. The door clearance was perfect. Like 0.5cm from the tweeter to the speaker grill. So it looks all stock.
I decided to cover the door service holes with mdf, and adding dampening material to it so it does not rattle. That way, any door service would be easily done by removing the panels. Used metal screws and drilled small holes to guide them.
A finished door. Doesnt it looks good huh?
I used second skin damplifier. It did a good job of silencing the doors. Zero rattle here. A word of caution: Please use gloves when handling the dampening material. It has an aluminium foil that cuts. I know.
Try to cover all small holes. Those sum all up to degrading audio performance. While you are at it, you can use some time to lube the window guides, it never hurts. My window came to slow to fast wit that.
Good luck.
