Im on a bit of a budget and no subs wanted right now, but here it is. All in my 98 4 door X with premium sound.

HU: Alpine 7894 (or jvc sh707 to save money)
Front speakers: Kicker 5x7 component speakers (check em out not sure how good they are... http://www.sounddomain.com/shop/item.pl?sku=KIC02K572&vq_id=none ) 75w rms
Back speakers: Pioneer 6x8 3 way speakers (6867) 50w rms
Amp: Us Acoustics USX 4085 (4x85w rms)

Anyways not sure about the speaker selections maybe you guys can give me some advice. I think thats a good amp to go along with my selections right?

chose the component because it well fit, and the back because i think i remember someone saying they sounded good. I guess I could go with different components up front because a shop will be installing this for me.

also will I have much bass at all? I dont care if it is good or not, just enough for the few rap songs i like.

You need to stay with the same brand speakers in your doors. Nice choice for the front but for the back you might want something like these: http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/KIC02K57

Why do you say that?! That is merely an opinion. If you want a different set of speakers from front to back...that's A-okay!

i had the pioneer 6x8 compression horns and they are highs are loud as hell + the horn swivels for imaging purposes.

If you're trying to save money then i'd ditch the amp, get a good HU and just run the speakers off the HU.

With my setup, running the pioneer speakers off the HU nobody has turned the volume past 16 and it goes up to 40 so I really don't see the need for amping the speakers.

it's worth it to run your doors off an amp. Before I had my whole system done in the 94' like 2 or 3 years ago (11th grade) I installed my Clarion Pro Audio HU and Pioneer 6X8's in the doors. It sounded nice, a lot better than the "Premium" stock set up. After I decide what amps I was going to use everything was hooked up, abd the mids were loud as hell at any volume compared to running of a HU.

A HU will never effieciently power speakers with their power. An amp of even the same rms power will sound a lot better, cleaner and louder.

This is my setup:
Clarion ProAudio DRX8675z HU
3-Way Pioneer 6X8's for mids
MTX amp for mids (about 400 watts rms from MTX certificate)
MTX 2300x amp for subs (about 700 watts rms bridged from MTX certificate)
Three 10" MTX Thunder 6000's in a sealed box.

Sounds incredible, extremely clear and drops hard as hell. But my mom gave it to my sister last year so that sucks:(

I have to agree with a saleenexp about the door speaker amping.:redexp:

do i need to worry if one set of speakers is at 110w rms and the other at 50w rms, and i run them at like 85w rms?
