2 cents? I'll list components and what i can get it for:

Head Unit and electronics:
Pioneer Premier DEH-940MP (~$500)
Pioneer GEX-P910XM XM tuner (~$80)
Antenna Specialists 12" window-mount antenna (~$70)

Drivers:
Boston Acoustics RC820 5x7 component system ($165)
Boston Acoustics FS80 5x7 component system ($115)
(2) Boston Acoustics ProSeries 12.5LF subwoofers ($150 each)

I've designed a sealed enclosure, but don't know how much materials will cost. It can be as shallow as 7 inches on the outside, so i'm not concerned about losing cargo space. So far I'm unsure of which amps to get. I already have a Crossfire BMF600D I got for my last car on clearance that is good for 600W RMS at one ohm, so I'll also need probably and 1/0 gauge wiring kit, Streetwires' kit that includes a distribution block. I plan to get a 4-channel amp later on, and probably a 1.0 farad cap, and a 100 amp circuit breaker. But for now, the components listed, and the wiring kit, will all run me about $1350 plus sub box materials.

Opinions? Suggestions? :)

You'll want to do some sound dampening. Dynamat or the like will work. It sounds like you have everything else pretty well in hand.

Dynamat. Dynamat. Dynamat.
I knew I forgot something. What would you say? 2 door kits? Some for the hatch, too? Any for the roof? Anywhere else?

Just spend a bill and get the 100ft roll.

I went ahead and put two layers on everything and I still get rattles in the rear hatch (mainly the rear wiper moving around..) But before soundproofing I used to get rattles where I didn't know I had truck.

I would opt not to use that stuff sparingly. Go crazy with it. If you're going to spend that much on a system, you might as well make it sound as good as possible.

The roof is a pain to seal up, but I noticed a better bass response when I did (odd..) Eventually I'll tear out my carpet and lay some on the floor. Every bit helps, and it'll also help keep the sound cleaner inside your car.. Always a good thing.
