I just got back into a X. It's a 93 sport. The OD says 62K. It's only 5 digit.
However a carfax & auto check shows the latest mile check at 52K in 08. Before that the mile checks are, 46K in 06, 23K in 99, & 7 miles in 93. All in FL.

I'm treating it as 162K miles.

Just wondering if you guys think it's possible original miles. It was a 1 owner, & the condition of the interior & exterior is way above average.

I bought a '91 last year, same circumstances. Odometer said...I think 53k when I bought it (has 66k now). It came with maintenance records and everything was up-to-date so I know it's accurate. I've had to replace several things (fan / serpentine belt, starter and power steering pump / brakes and suspension bushings)...that's just what you have to do when you buy a vehicle that old...age has more to do with stuff like that than miles. Mine is in great condition as far as rust because it was garaged...it was owned by an old couple who just didn't drive a lot...he basically drove it just to keep it going I think.

But, I imagine the mileage report you got is accurate. Judging by the history I doubt that since 08 they put 110k on the vehicle considering that since '93 only 52k was on it.

To go along with the queation of actual milage...when i got my X 6yrs ago i was uneasy about the milage also with it showing 2500 on the odometer. Thinking it had only 102500. Many things went wrong leading to the comclusion it had more miles than that. Few months back while researching the threads i found someone claiming the 5 digit odometers scors a small line into the 1/10th marker everytime it rolls over 100000. Went out and lookd at my odometer and sure enough there was two lines scored into it. As of now my truck has 276,453. A lot more....bout 100000 more than id like to see. Its worth a shot to go out and look at yours as well.

I've never heard of the scoring of lines- interesting... I'll have to look at some at the junkyard...

....ill try and get a good pic and upload it.

Well original or not I DO love the way my X drives. If it has over 170K now on it, it doesn't drive like it. It's my utility vehicle & not a daily driver but I run it once a week at least.
