I just installed new plugs and someone said it might not get better gas milage right away...that the ECU has to relearn things after a "lean" situation..

how long will that take?

I am surprised I havent seen better milage after running thru A FULL TANK....

Did you "pop off" the negative battery cable?

I've seen people say 10 minutes with that off and you'll be straight.

However I can't see how changing the plugs would be a call for resetting the ECU. If you cleaned the MAF sensor as well, then yeah.

Hope that helps.

If you went through a full tank of gas, relearning should have definitely taken place.

Just because you changed plugs does not insure better gas mileage; there are simply too many variables.

TRUE...but it is running much better, so you would think it wouldnt have to use as much gas...and it would re-learn the amount of fuel used

I did reset the ECU by removing neg so the CEL would dissapear.

lets see what second tank does. I will l.et you know in a few days

when I got the truck, I got 280 out of a tank...right before I did the wires, I was down to 220

i have a sudden improvement in gas milage it seems. all of a sudden it doesnt take 1/4 tank to get to work and back....will let you know the numbers on next fill up
