How many axles does an 02 Explorer have?

Hi,
Please help me with another beginner's question. I am applying for an EZ pass for my Explorer'02 XLT and I need to fill in the information whether it has 2 axle or 3 axle, please help.

For what they are asking about, you have 2.. a Front axle and a rear axle..

Wouldn't a rear solid axle and two front half shafts equal three axles?

An 02 is IRS so that makes 4 axles and it might have inner shafts too

for his question 2 axles is the right answer though. yes it has ifs and irs, but for the ez pass they just wanna know if its a large truck with dual rear axles.
also know as a six wheeled vehicle.

they wanna know, cuz for a 3 axle vehicle they would charge you more for an ez pass, since usually it would be a very heavy vehicle, and wear on the roads more.

Depends on if it's a V6 or a V8. 6's have 2 axles, 8's have 3 so there's more rubber to leave on the road after you do the Brown Wire Mod. Glad I could be of assistance.
