How many body mounts are there?

I'm thinking of doing a 2" body lift on my X and was wondering how many body mounts there are. I found eight. Will a body lift kit come with decent instructions, and should I be able to do this myself? What tools do I need other than sockets, jack, jackstands. Any help is great.

10. simple tools will work. propane torch and breaker will help. you will need a drill with a good 1/2" bit. instructions with kit are ok. this is for a 3" but i'd guess it would apply for the most part to the 2"
