How much freon does a 92 Ex hold?

Your owners manual should tell you how much the system holds, but if the system isnt completely empty you cant do it by that, you would have to put a guage on it and measure it by pressure.

It is advised that a Section 609 of EPA Standards mechanic be the only one to perform anything with that type of system [r12] as well as r134a due to its effects on the environment... what do you need to know the capacity for? also for freon, i would consider just doing a swap out to r134a as freon [r12] is becoming more rare and more expensive.... i assume that the system would use that much freon.... i am almost positive a completely dry system uses less than 5 punds....

Good point, I didnt realize he was dealing with r-12. Just to add to that, if you are caught letting it out in the air it is a very huge fine.

Federal Law dictates that anyone found venting ANY refrigerant [r12, r134a, etc] into the atmosphere can be fined up to $25,000

I am already converting the system over to 134a......I had it evacuated so I could start putting Freon in it. thats why I was wondering.

The system origionally holds 1.75lbs of R-12. If you are converting to R-134A and using 12oz cans to refill the system you will need 2 cans. Although this is less than the origional R-12 requiorment it is plenty for a proper working R-134A system.
