How much HP?

I have a '96 X Eddie Bauer. I have heard they have 160 hp and another place said 210.... Which one is it?? It's a SOHC right?? People are confusing

SOHC is 205, the V8 is 220 or something like that. OHV is 160.

You do not have an SOHC motor, they did not come out until '97. You've got either a 4.0 OHV with 160 hp or a 5.0 V8 with 210, if memory serves me correctly.

The SOHC didn't get 210 hp until some of the newer models, 205 for the beginning years. 210-220 hp seems to be about right for the V8. I don't remember it being anything extremely impressive. The newest V8's will put out in the 240 range.

It's pretty easy to figure out which engine you have, open your hood. V8's are clearly labeled and so is an SOHC....like this...
