Ok here it is. I started competeing last year and I kept getting disqualified because of window seals blowin out on me. After the last time it happened I said screw it and pulled myself out of the competition. Haven't competed since.

Before I had two RF 15" Power HX2s powered by a RF bd.1000 amp to each sub(then upgraded to the bd.1500.) Ok so I had about 3200 watts going to the subs alone. For this year if I pick up RF for a sponsor I'm going to 6 12" Power HX2s and probably the bd1000 or bd1500 to each one.

My question is how much pressure can the inside of my truck take? Before, I hit my max of 148.9 dbs and then my rear windows went "POP!" If I get back into IASCA I need to fix this for good.

The rear gate window? Or the rear passenger windows?

you're better off getting plexi windows and windshield. yi split my front windshield when i was running Orion HCCA's. if you do get sponsored, you're better off getting a beater hatchback for a db drag car. fill it with concrete, rip out the interior, and replace the glass with plexi or bondo (on the sides and rear).

that's the standard for a db drag car. they do look ugly but they win competitions. but if you get sponsored, you can get a cool paint job so it doesn't look so ugly.

I blew the rear quarter windows(the big ones)

I'm sure if I wanna compete its no problem getting Rockford to sponsor. They designed my whole truck last year for me. I've torn it apart since last year and I'm only runnin 1 bd1000 to 2 15" RFs. I thought about doin plexi back there, but I still not sure if I wanna compete this year or use my fiance's mazda pick-up for it. I think I like the idea of doin a bed box with 8 15s in it.

Bullet proof glass out of an armored car for the windows.

Yeah.......bulletproof glass.......I never thought of that!

-K- now on a serious note. How thick of plexi glass should I be looking at?

I wasn't kidding... the guy who had the world record in a full size Bronco had armored car windows and his doors were shut with hydraulic rams.

I was joking with the cost of bullet proof glass. Not your idea.

Did you ever see that bronco? Holly crap that thing was fun to sit in. My friend puked in it. Seriously!! It hit about 163 dbs and he went wwwwwoooooooffffffff!!!! It was funnier then ****. I've seen people crap there pants after it gets up to about 168 dbs. I love it loud but I'll never sit in anything over 158 or so dbs. It just hits too hard for me.

make the plexi as thick as you want. get at least 3/4"
and have you wndshield in at least 2 sections (3 would be better).

good luck:)

I do beleive the gates bronco is running something like layered 4" thick lexan, I'm not really sure, never seen the thing in person, but they're hitting like.. close to 170, standard 1" to 1.5" lexan should do you well, although I'm not sure.. I don't want mine THAT loud lol

i'm pretty sure they hit over 170. there are regular people with much less money and much smaller systems and vehicles that can hit 173+.

but maybe they cant hit 170. i dont really pay attention to the sponsored vehicles with professional installs. i like the amateur classes where people do everything themselves. it's much more impressive. and a lot of times they do better than the big boys.

Oh heck yeah leenjen!! I've seen people hit 160 with no name crap or low name crap. It all comes down to how you build it. Like me right now! I'm runnin 2 RF HE2s 15" subs with about 500 watts to each sub and I max out at 142 dbs. The box was designed for me and the explorer by Rockford tech. Those guys rule!!

"If you build it right, it will thump"

Yeah like me. I'm also running 2 RF HE2 15's but I have a MTX Thunder 500 which only puts about 400rms to each speaker and I hit a 144.

Hmm, you guys are nuts! j/k, that stuff is so fun to go to and I wish I could do the stuff some of them and you do. Good luck.
