How much to rebuild transmission?

I have a 96 4x4. The torque converter dumped it's bearings into the tranny and the parts instead got toasted.

Roughly how much should I expect to pay for a tranmission shop to do a complete overhaul?

Your Looking At Around 1500.00 to 2000.00 depending on what Hard parts You need You could save yourself some money by taking it out and putting it back in when its done being rebuilt you could also buy your own parts as they will be marking up the parts probably at least 30-40% You could also try to do it yourself or getting one from a wrecking yard (kinda risky)

if you decide to buy the parts yourself, I reccomend transparts on ebay. look them up, and just give them a call for any parts you need. that have excellent prices!
