I was fortunate and didn't have to replace my 2004 wheel bearings until I got to.about 100k miles...front and rear.... Had the dealership do it. Paid about $1600 for all 4. 30k later, the front ones need to be replaced again.

I find it strange that my first ones lasted so long, and the next only a third of the time...I'm headed to the dealership.tomorrow to "express my concern".

Should the 2nd set have worn out so quickly?

They probably used the motorcraft ones. We use timken bearings when we have to replace them. Done many and never had an issue with them.

What's wrong with the Motorcraft hub assemblies? The original Motorcrafts lasted 100k why wouldn't you expect the replacements to do the same. I believe the Motorcraft have a Timken bearing pressed in it.

Motorcraft bearings are crap. We used them in the past and they have a high failure rate. They may have been great when the trucks were built but the new ones dont last.
