How to bypass the stock amp?

Hi guys,I have a lil problem with the stock amp and sub.I am trying to install a new radio and got a harness.But the harness doesnt support the speakers, i can get the radio on but no sound.i was hearing that i have to bypass the amp but dont know wat wires they are?If anybody has a guild that i can use.I been lookin for one,but no luck.(btw its a 96 ford explorer )Thanks

there is a harness but not all of them work because Ford made a few different plugs for the same year trucks.

On my 98 XLT I had to cut the plugs off and splice the wires directly

hey I have a 98 explorer too. how did you splice them? color to color wise

I assume u have a Limited 96? Or at Least a EB? With the JBL?

Let me know which on you have and I'll point you in the right direction. In 96 some of the upper end X's used a split system, where everything including the tuner is in the back, in the Rear Chassis. The radio or head unit you see is just a Front control panel.

Yeah thats correct you have to bring the antenna connector and speaker wires from the rear back to the front. There is a specific adapter you can get for this here is the link.
