how to check axle gears

im not sure if this is the right forum to ask this, but o well. i was wondering how to find out what gears you have in your explorer. ive just got a 91 xlt 4 door and the axles r stock and i have no idea to find out what they are, i just want to know what size of tires and i can and find out what gears i have. thanks

go loot at the tag on teh driver side door jamb....there will be a tag with a bunch of info and one of the boxes will say axle...get that conde and post it here and someone will be able to tell you what ratio you have.

i am runnin 31's with that ratio with no probs...others are running 33's with a little power loss
