You getting a "Check Engine" light, or otherwise having problems? If not, you don't have any problems to check.
However, you will sooner or later, so here's the process.
1) Go buy a Chilton's or Haynes manual. They have them at the auto supply stores and they are not expensive.
2) Read the section on diagnostics and code reader use...a full listing of problem codes is included in the manual.
3) If you just gotta have one (and there's no reason you shouldn't) go buy the code reader for your '94. And be glad you have a '94...the newer diagnostic black box for my '96 is several hundred bucks.
The one for a '94 is like $30 or so, i think.
There is a way you can read the codes out of the pre-96s by using a paper clip or a voltmeter, but frankly if you're gonna have this ride for a while, get a real tool for it.
