I have a 95 Limited 4x4 I recently purchased. The front hubs and one axleshaft need to be replaced. I want to go to a salvage yard and try to pull these parts myself to save money. I know this question sounds elementary. How do I verify the parts I pull are good? With the hubs do I just feel for grinding/hard to turn (thats obvious to me)? What about the used axle shaft? The current axle shaft boot is cracked and there is almost no lube in the boot.

I'm starting to do my own work on my vehicles so please be patient with me. I'm just worried that I will pull parts that are equal to worse than what I have on my vehicle.

Thanks!

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT get your front CV/axles from the junkyard! You will end up kickin' yourself in the ass later when you have to do that job again so soon. Hub assemblies..hmmm... I personally would not get those from a junkyard either.

remaned CV's from Napa are usually a really good price and worth it. I wouldnt buy from the yard either
