ok, last week I got the 98 mountaineer emission tested and the gas cap passed so I assume it cant go bad in a week.
I let my girl drive it yesterday and she put gas in it and then it threw a code on her which I got pulled at autozone. I used this thread after a search:
http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147880
which gave me this:
Dead Link Removed
which goes along with what the autozone guy says...that the gas cap was bad.
I personally think she just didnt have it tight.
Well, anyway, I pulled it and put it back on tight and then pulled the #19 fuse (pcm diode) for an hour while I was doing some other stuff. The code is still there so I'm thinking this wasnt the right fuse to pull??
Is there any other way to clear the codes from the ecu without disconnecting the battery?? I dont want her driving around with the code present (in case something else goes wrong) But I dont want to pull the battery and lose all our presets and stuff in the audio system, etc and the fact that I'd probably have to replace the battery terminals since there's a good bit or corrosion on them
