Hey everyone. I was just wondering if anyone knew how to disable the indoor lights with the rear lift-window open. I took apart the cover/housing for the lift because I had to fix the lock actuator. I figure I could just go back in there and unplug all the cables? If there is a better way, I'd like to know. Thanks again!:rangertan:

i just close the latch without the window or door being closed with a piece of wire i made , in a u shape,,
just remember to unlatch it before you try to close it,

Dimmer switch

Just turn the dimmer switch all the way downward, which will be in the off position. At one time I use to train K-9 dogs and needed to leave the back window lift open all the time. The light will normally go off after a few minutes, but would turn on everytime a door opened. So I just turned the dimmer wheel switch all the way downward until the interior lights went off. You will actually feel it click when you get all the way to the end.
By the way the dimmer switch is located very close to where you turn on the headlights.

Pull the fuse? I think it is #27 10 amp.

I tried the dimming switch but it didn't work. I figured it out though. You just gotta push the latch in with your finger and turn the handle for it to pop back out. Thanks for all the help!

The dimmer deactivate I *think* was new for the 98 model year. Prior to that, flipping the latch was the easiest.

I recall some years back seeing someone that had made some small aluminum studs to take the place of the latch striker. He had attached some of those 'Remove before Flight' red flags they use on planes. Points for originality!
