How to get accessory lights to turn on with auto headlights

I was thinking about putting blue accent lights in my car to illuminate the dash (gauages, radio, a/c controls). I was going to use these lights instead of the stock green. My question is how to do wire the lights so they automatically turn on and off with the auto headlights? Basically i want to by some cheap lights that plug in to your cig adapter and just hardwire them to work with the auto headlights.

you would have to find a wire that runs to a light and then use that to turn on a relay to your lights. that would be the easiest way i would it.... or you can decide to change out your dash lights like i have and several others. it's in my registry if you'd like to see how it looks. otherwise you're going to have to either tap a wire that does turn on automatically as the main power source or to tap a relay.

Do you know what fuse is used for the automatic headlights?

what is the easiest way to change the color of the cluster lights? There seems to be a green film on the 3 dials for the a/c. would could i remove the film? i ready on other car forums it has to be sanded off? Has anyone ever tried it?

for those of you that have changed the color, how did you do it?

for those of you that have changed the color, how did you do it?

i'm not sure what fuse is used.. you would have to figure that out using your manual that came with the car. and the easiest way that i found was to just change the bulbs to the color that you want. The bulbs i pulled out of my dash were white, yet it showed up green... now the LEDs i replaced them with are blue and it shows up blue. I'm unsure of the film, and i would change the bulbs first to see if you need to sand anything.

Like i stated i changed out the bulbs for LEDs

Yeah I checked the manual and can't find it in the fuse guide. I am wondering if it's an abbreviation like DLR or something like that. I just dont know what the abbreviation would be.

I found the fuse that works the automatic headlights. It's the instrument panel lights fuse. i believe it's #23. I am assuming i can add a circuit to that fuse, add an additional cig adapter, and run the accessory or light that way.

Depends on the amperage of your lights. If they are more than a couple amps, I would use a relay instead and use that circuit to trigger the relay. You have to remember when you add a circuit the combined amperage is not supposed to exceed the amperage of the ORIGINAL fuse.
