How to get (overshot) paint off plastic fender flares? & repairing flares?

During my body repair marathon sessions, I made some mistakes and got rattle can paint on my fender flares (plastic)...

I have a 1st gen.

What is a good product/method to get rid of this paint without damaging the flares? I have Mother's clay bar and goo gone, but I'm worried that goo gone will discolor the flares...

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Note to self: Remove flares when painting near them..

Also: I have a 1.5" "rip" in one of my fender flares.
How do you fix the plastic flares with a good looking result?
I haven't repaired plastic before..

Rubbing compound.
Clay bar might work too, but that would take a bit more effort.
Plastic repair is a PITA.
Dura-Mix makes a good plastic repair product.
Groove it out, 80 grit scuff the primiter. Goop it with dura mix.
Sand.
Skim.
Prime.

Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover...I love it. I've taken overspray off of my paint when a family member attempted to paint my handles. Works well. Just need to be persistant sometimes and just about anything can be removed (except your own paint). I've used it for just about everything.

just how persistent to you have to be with the turtle wax tar and bug remover?
I bought some and was trying to be persistent.. I guess I haven't been persistent enough! :smoke:

Some things come off really easily, other things you just have to go over it a few times. Sometimes rubbing lightly seems to work better than scrubbing hard.
