I was trying to run wires into my door the other night and I managed to take apart that round black thing that the rubber tube between the door and the body. Low and behold it's a big dang connector!! How do I manage to run wires through the tube to my components with this thing in the way. Obviously, I'm going to have to find another way. Preferably, some way without the wires showing or cutting a hole in the tube. Any ideas?

Speaker wires

I managed to get a coat hanger through the rubber piece and fish my speaker wires through...was able to get 2 sets of wires for each door through these things.

I ran some wires in their own loom to my driver's door. They just peek out from the dash panel and go to the edge of the door panel. I didn't mess with the stock stuff or drilling through the metal at all.

This worked for me:

Get some real lightweight string, like kite string - tie about 6 knotts in the end as close together as you can.

Take your shop vac on one end of the loom housing and suck the string thru.

Tie the string onto the wire you want to pull thru.

done.

Have a PB&J sandwich. (not required, but recommended)

I have been working in a body shop for 11 years. I have seen a zillion ways to run a harness through a door. I have NEVER heard of this trick. Simply brilliant.
Wish I thought of it !

Convict,

What wires were you running in to the door? You could use the existing wires if you are up to "cutting and splicing "them...

Hey guys, thanks for all the ideas, but they won't work. The tube from the door to the body doesn't go straight through. On the door side instead of going straigt into the door it attaches to the bottom half of a large plug. This in turn attaches to the top half which is bolted to the door. There is no way to run any wires through this plug. I'm going to have to mount my crossovers inside the door and use the factory wiring to get the signal to the crossover.

I drilled a VERY small hole in next to the black clip..worked great!

Gald it worked out for you sporty:chug:

What were the wires for anyway?
