Hi All,

I just found out the hard way (sorry, Mike97) what 'deer hoof' wheels look like. I now understand why they're called that. Anyway, I was wondering if Ford actually gives names to identify the wheels offered on their products. The reason I ask is because Volkwagen does this. For instance, the 5 spoke 17" Sport & Luxury wheels offered on the Jetta are called 'Long Beach'. The more common 5 spoke wheels, 16", standard on Jettas are called 'Avus'. Based on what I found using search, I'm guessing Ford doesn't have a naming system and everyone uses 'deer hoof', 'tear drop', etc. TIA for the feedback, Dave.

All I've ever heard are the nicknames. They probably have part numbers, but isn't it easier to remember "teardrop" than FZ0170238A?

Alec,

It figures that a fellow VW owner would understand this (no offense to the rest of you). Yes, it's easier to remember a nickname than a part number. But, without an 'offical name', it's easy to have mis-understandings (like I did with Mike97). How do you refer to the wheels with 'slots & dots'? I see them on older Mountaineers mostly but I know of a few Xs with them as well. See my point?

D.
