im pretty sure that if you go to streetglow.com that they will have stuff on there to show you... usually you drill a hole and stick the switch through so it will stay, i saw one of my friends who got his done "professionally" and were strapped down by like a hundred zip ties

Hey man....

I currently have two underbody kits on my explorer...

I have a 96 eddie bauer, so i have the running boards...this provided a GREAT place to mount my underbodys. Originally, i used the provided clamps and used the self tapping screws that came with the Street Glow Underbody Kit.

For my second kit, all i did was ziptie them to the first...very easy...i have installed on two other explorers...one a 94 where we used the clamps, the other a 2001 sport, where i just zip-tied the tubes under the car. Be creative...zip-ties are your easiest/best option.

I would recomend installing them youself....its pretty easy once you get the hang of it...

Also, if you have any questions, you can go to www.streetglow.com and go to their message boards for help. I am a moderator there (same name) so just give a shout out and alot of people will help ya if you need it.

For mounting swtiches, you can pretty much mount them anywhere. I have them by both my feet, stearing wheel, glove compartment, passanger (front) right foot, etc.

For installing...theres a few rules
First of all, AlOT ENOUGHT TIME TO DO THE JOB RIGHT. Never rush an instal.
Second, make sure ALL wires are away from moving parts...nothing sucks more than hvaing your neons ripped off your car at 40mph becuase a wire wrapped around your wheel.... (no experience...just have heard storys) Also...mount the tubes so that they are not exposed....when you can see the bulbs..it looks pretty tacky in my opinion..you shouldn't have to worry becasue you have an explorer, and im pretty sure all models have enough room to hide the tubes....
Lastly, HAVE FUN...be prepared to have alot of people checkin your X out!

If you want to see how amazing neons look on explorers, check out my site...i have my friends Explorer Sport pictures also up on there...

Any questions, just e-mail me or go to the message boards on Street Glow

BMXboy i'm glad u replied,

I got a couple more questions for you

1. u said u have 2 underbody kits, does 2 make a big difference over just 1?

2. how hard is it to wire these to switches and mount the switches in the car? i'm not too good with electric stuff

Ok....classic example....
If you turn on a 50 watt bulb in a room...its 100% brighter than it was before. You add another 50 watt bulb, and its brightness, is only half as much as the original 50 watt bulb...etc..etc..

In other words, its exponential....

After two underbody kits of the same color...there really is not more "light" that can be made to make the human eye think its seeing brightness.

So, if you add another UB kit of the same color...yes, it will be brighter, but will only increase your underglow by about 50%, and if you add a third UB kit, it will increase your UB glow by 25%....

So adding another UB kit of the same color will increase glow, but i would rather add a different colored UB kit...

I am thinking about a Black Light underbody kit. BMX Boy, have you ever seen a black light kit in action? Does it look good or not? I would like to get a under kit but I don't want blue, green, purple, red, or aqua. I was thinking about white, black light, or orange. Any ideas?

I have seen one black light UB kit....Street Glow use to make them, but discontinued them....i think Lowglow/Liteglow still makes them however....

Anyway, with all said and done...i like your choices...no one has those colors around here....i personally loved how the black light kit looked...when driving...it has that DARK purplish color...and then when the guy drove over whitelines/reflectors in the road..they just LIT UP...it was pretty cool...you will get alot of **** for it however, casue alot of people think its stupid to have one...jhowever...be unique~!

As for white...if i could do it all over again, iw ould go with white. Again, alot of people will be like "why don't you just strap some lights under your car!" The White NEon looks NOTHING like normal lights, and is BRIGHT AS HELL. My friend, Ben, with the big dodge ram, has a white UB kit on his truck...and has 3 tubes up front...2 purple, and 1 white. The white is more powerful than two purple tubes...heres the pics -

Does anyone know where to install the front and back ones on the 91-94's? I couldn't find a good spot in the front.

Hey bmxboy, as u already know i ordered my gold series neo blue kit just recently. ur sayin the white kit looks awesome, so i've been thinking what if i did a white kit under there also to make it kinda a cowboys colors? (i'm a big dallas cowboy fan haha) any suggestions?

Alright another Dallas Cowboys fan Dead Link Removed :D

I'm debating weather to order neons. It seems like everybody except a few people who own them don't like em. i personally think they are a little cool, but i dunno those people are just holding back my decision i guess.

Yah bro!!! If you had blue and white UB kits...i would drool!!!

I have a wig-wag assembly, so my two underbody kits can swtich from one to another...so thad be pimp if you pull up next to someone...and filp that on...and they see blue, then white, then blue!!! :)

Carl

Hey bmxboy, how do u get that wigwag setup and stuff? and is there anyway to have them both on at the same time and still have it look good? i've heard white usually gets drowned out by other colors? Maybe I could just fill in the dead spots with white? any suggestions?? Also where did u buy your police headlight strobes from?

actually, white is pretty bright....i mean...with both colors on, it will look a tad bit strange....like you can see how my two UB kits look like....

The wig wag dealy is from jcwhitney....its not to hard to instal...and well worth it

Also, i purchased my Police Strobes from e-bay in a dutch auction for a 90 watt Whelen Power pack, 4 Whelen 25 watt strobes, and 4 15" long cables for about 250

Carl

So if i did the blue underbody kit with white neons to fill in the dead spots it wouldnt look too good?

Im just saying that im not sure the colors would blend that well....but hey give it a shot. You can always ghetto rig the second set just to see how it looks...and if it looks good, bu all means, do it!

Carl

I think the blue and white would look good together. You could say that you have Hyper Neon lights. You know really bright with a little bluish tint!
