My ex has an intermittent battery drain problem that I can't find the reason for. I have a new 850 cca batt and the alt is charging fine. I did a search and found that a relay sticking even with the ign. in the off position could cause this. Anyone know a simple way to test for the amt of amperage that is being drawn? Is there a meter that I can install to watch every time I shut the ex off to see if there is still juice flowing? Thanks for any help.

Disconnect one of your battery cables and insert a VOM (Volt Ohm Meter) in series to measure the current. You could conceivably install a current meter in series with the battery, however you would need the equivalent gauge wire going to and from the meter so you didn't fry the wire the first time you started it.

Alright that's good to know, thanks!
