How to open door?

alright so I..like many. Have the door handle problem, mine is the passenger door behind the driver's door. It would only open 1 out of 10 times when I first got it and the last time someone tried to open it one side of the handle snapped off. All of my door handles are loose and stretched but they still work so I'm wanting to tackle this door first.


My issue is... the door doesn't open... so I'm not sure how I can get the panel off to start working on it. Does anyone have a way / know a way I can get this door open in a non-destructive and cost free manner?

use a large channel lock to grab what is left of the interior handle,a new handle can be had for about $10 at advance, I now keep spares because the kids keep breaking them.

Quick question. Are you talking about the exterior door handle breaking? If so the pliers on the interior handle might not be an option for opening the door if you have the child safety locks flipped.

If it is the exterior, you are going to have to probably pop your rear seat out for access and then you should be able to unbolt the door pull and pop the inner liner out starting at the bottom.

yeah it is the exterior handle, and the child safety locks are killing me because even on the other side when I flip the child locks off u still cant open it from the inside.

My 00 explorer is like this only my handle hasn't broke, but I know it takes awhile I found sometimes pressing in on it while pulling up helped if you can get your fingers on whats left of the handle. You may be able to get it from the inside. As to the solution of taking the seats out, its not as easy without the back doors open since there are bolts right beside the door opening.
