what, exactly, do the numbers/ letters on a tire mean? I know some of it... what does 235/40ZR18 mean? Note- these are from the Porche GT2, not my X..heh.. I know what some of it means, but it's sorta confusing

Thanks, that explained just about everything...

Does anyone know where I can find a key to Load Indexes/ what the load index is when the tire says 105?

Also, says my tires are rated S, 112 MPH, does that mean the fuel governor kicks in at 112, I was told it would kick in at 100 on the X... never got around to testing it because I want to keep my license, and if the cops didn't take it away, my parents would with a 100 in a 65 ticket...

that means that anything over 112 at recommended pressure is asking for tire failure.

Explorers governor is around 100 and has nothing to do with the speed rating of the tires.

so what did troll have to do to change the fuel governor?

The speed governor is a program in the computer. Troll has a reprogrammed Mustang computer, which got rid of the governor or moved it to 160 or so. Some chip and reprogrammers will remove it or bump it up. Mine is set stock at 108, but I don't want to go beyond that due to the tire rating. Better safe than stupid.
