Blazey... I cannot give you a link, but here is a simple set of instructions for EEC-IV flashout codes. Under the hood, on the side of the engine you will find a bundle <small> or wires running up into a plastic cover, going nowhere. The top usualkly says EEC-IV or TEST or somesuch. In it are two connectors. An EEC-IV connector, and a single wire gray "self test" connector. Remove the gray connector. With a helpper, sit in the car and turn the ignition to "ON" but do NOT start the vehicle. You are ready to obtain Key ON Engine Off codes. Hace your helper ground the self test wire. Keep it grounded throughout this test. The check engine light will begin to flash. Like more code, it will flash a combination of counts ... you will see a longer pause between the digits, and a much longer count between codes. Each code is repeated. Count the flashes and put the codes together from this. Good luck. BTW Haynes and Chiltons can help you here... as can a 20 buck tool from your fave auto place.

there's a link to a page under explorer resources ("electronic engine control self test" I think it was) here that takes you to a page at www.dalidesign.com
