The transfer case shift motor would not engage, so I had to do a couple of mods to get it to work. Basically, Micheal and I removed the shift motor and zip tied it to the frame so that I can now manuslly access the transfer case by turning the little knob to 4LO instead of 2HI.

How do you plan on keeping the dirt out? also will it stay in 4-low or 4 high without disengageing, how easy does it turn? and do you have to have the shift motor hooked up anyway, if so why if you are doing it manually, thanks just wanted to know.:D

There is a seal there so I'm not worried about the dirt. The shift motor is bad, or needs cleaning, and I didn't feel like fixing it before heading out to Moab. It's just a temporary fix, really, so I can make it to Moab. It turns very easily. You proabably can't do it with your fingers, but it's no problem with some pliers. It won't turn back of its own accord, since the motor that controls it is ziptied to the frame.

thanks, I'm going to have to do the same for this weekend.:D
