Ok, got a Pioneer GM-222 amp which puts out 35X2 @ 4 ohms, 50X2 @ 2 ohms, or 80X1 @ 4 ohms. I am hooking this up to some polk gxr57(4 ohm) 6X8's. They are rated at 2-50 watts rms. I am putting this in the front doors of my 99 XLS 4 door. I am not going to hook up my rear door speakers, just leaving them factory. How should I hook up these front door speakers to the amp?

Not sure how to wire them to get them to a 2 ohm load. Or should I bridge them(how to wire this again?) or just hook them up normally to each channel of the amp?

Thanks!

hook them up normally.

but, if you wish, you can wire them in parellel for a 2ohm load, this would be bridged, there would be no other way to get 2ohms out of those speakers.

IF you wired them into 2ohm mono, you would be putting the amp at a lower impendence than it is capable of, and you could possibly fry the amp. That is why I will not tell you how to do it.

just wire them up straight. You'll get plenty of sound. If you wire them in parallel for 2ohms you will lose stereo sound.

Just hook up the speakers like this (each getting 35 watts each)

1st speaker
Positive to positive
Negitive to negitive

2nd speaker
Positive to positive
Negitive to negitive

Thx for clearing that up Woody! I wasn't sure how to do it... you make the sun shine through the clouds
