i got a friend with a Dodge truck with 35x15.50 (something close to that, cant remember exactly right now) M/T baja belted. this is my $0.02. ride good on street, flat spot real bad over-night (as any bias ply), so far wear good, no good at all in mud (should be obvious), and work D@MN good in sand aired down to 15lbs. they also look pretty sweet...

My buddy has the 35's and you can air them down to like 5 pounds and they barely even flex. I was gonna run some 31.11.50's on my truck but ended up finding a set of swampers for $125.

The micky tompson's are made for sand. I would not recommend getting them if you are going to be using them for mud. They will not cut it for that kind of use.

I've seen them go through lots of mud without problems. They do better than an A/T but not as good as a Swamper.

they look bad though, as for mud, i love, mud that's my favorite kinda terrain, there is also a new super swamper, the LTB, there fairly cheap the 31x11.50, runs for like $100 bucks, that's pretty good. i've been thinking bout getting them, but then what if they totally suck, baja M/ts or super swamper LTBs, hmmmm?

I had the Mickey Thompson Baja Belted HP tires, I hated them. Rick had the Mickey Thompson Baja Claws, he hated them too. They are made for sand apparently but suck for any type of rock-crawling or wheeling or highway driving other then "baja". And even the baja claws look worthless in sand so whats the point?

The Baja Belted's are the only ones I like. All the others suck.

Um, yeah... My buddy has Matts old HP's... and his discription, was pretty much right... They do alright, as long as the roads are clean and dry! They were far from impressive offroad... my balding M/T's were doing better than them...

Oh, they're WAAAAAAAAAY over price! Definately not worth it...

My friend just got a good deal from Matt :p

Well I've ran several sets of Mickeys. When I first bought the X the first thing to go on was a set of 31x11.50 Baja Belteds. Loved them!!! Go down to 10lbs. of air and not even worry about sidewall cuts.

Then I went to a 33x14.50 Baja Belted. I liked but didn't flex much at lower psi. I ended up tradeing those in for a set of 33" boggers. Best move I ever made.

I have ran several tires since but I'm currently running the Baja Claw Radials on MRT beadlocks. I don't know why people say they suck ass. Run 5 lbs. of air and let the tires do the work. If you like mud, they'll take you through anything.

But if you want a really sweet ass tire, go with the new Super Swamper STS. A buddy of mine just got a set of 44x21 but on his CJ-5. Talk about some traction tires. I'll be posting pics of those sometime soon.(half to get roll of film done first)

Just my $0.02!!!

those are 44's though, i want 31's or 32's.any news on them new ltb's. :bounce:

My friend has 33 inch LTB's on his '99 F-150. They're wearing very fast. But his mud traction is just amazing. They clean so well.

how long has he been running them for, do you know how much mileage for those tires.:shoot:

He has been running them for about 3K miles, and they are very noticeably warn.

Love my Claws. :bounce: I've been spanking J**P's in my club even with boggers. I have only considered selling them to go bigger. Yes the Baja's aren't the greatest in the mud, but you have to consider the pro's and con's of every tire. I don't get flat spots, just slight cupping after 15K miles with lots of tread left.

what size claws do u have? bakon and i do go to the beach alot so sand is also another requirment i need out of my tires. more so how much do u want for your tires.

Mickey Thompson, Pro Comp, Parnelli Jones, BF Goodrich, blah blah blah...one word for ya -- BOGGERS. Look up "mudding" in the dictionary one of these days and the definition should just be a picture of one of these meats.

But Bogger's wear pretty easily don't they? I mean, of course they're incredible off-roading tyires, but if you need them on the street, they don't last for long. At least, that's what I've heard. I knew a guy in high school that had some and they wnet out in about 20k miles...

wow 20k!!!

I got maybe 6k off my old set of 33" boggers. I was just glad they wore even.

I've got 6k on my Claws right now and I'm a little over half tread. I think I'm gonna go with the Super Swamper SXs next though. Half the people in the 4x4 club here run those and I have yet to see one fail. Very tough!!!
