Slotted or otherwise “ventilated” rotors are better then stock rotors. Basically, they run cooler and grip harder. If your not racing your truck, I personally don’t see the benefit of a $300 plus outlay. Some may argue with me on that but it’s just my 2 cents. Stock breaks, assuming they are in good condition are adequate for most driving conditions we will face. But, slap a supercharger on you truck, lower it and go import hunting and you may very well need to upgrade the breaks. I have been looking into a breaking system that cost a tad over $2400.00. You can go nuts on this stuff. But to answer your question, yes, there is an advantage to using slotted or drilled rotors but only you can tell if the cost is worth it.
