Hello I have a 95 eddie bauer explorer. Passenger side front wheel bearing was bad so I replaced it no big deal. Needed an alignment so I took it in. Well the guy comes out and tells me that my NEW wheel bearing is bad. I was like you gotta be kidding so I go out there and sure enough there is play in it. Everything is tight..... I dont get it.. So I replaced the hub once again. With a NEW part. and Im still having the same issues. Everything is tight but there is still play in it???????? Everything else in the front end is tight but this. Any suggestions would be great still need an alignment and its eating my new tires up.

Thanks

Jack the front end up and try to push the tire in & out. IF you can visibily see the cv axle move in & out of the hub assembly than its bad. Then again make sure you torqued the hub nut down. They should be as tight as can be.. I used a 6' breaker bar just to be certain.

Thanks,,,, I tore it apart after posting this noticed there was all kinds of grease coming outta the bearing itself. So I went and bought a timken bearing bolted it up and no problems whatsoever now. The 2 new bearings I used that were both junk came from ebay......

Is yours a 2WD?

Okay cause a on 4WD/AWD you cannot simply replace bearings. You have to replace the entire hub assembly.
