Hydraulic Hood and Door Lifters Question

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I have a quick question about hydraulic lifters. Do they make replacement locking hydraulic lifters, so as to not rely on the hydraulics to hold up my hood or rear door. I ask this because my hood seems to have weakening lifters, and the wind blew the hood down on top of a can of Engine Restore and dented my hood just a tad. Any advice would be helpful, and ways to remove this minor dent in my hood. Thanks a bunch!

Never heard of ones that lock, but you can buy new ones if the old ones are becoming weak. They're not very expensive.
