I can not see the check engine indicator in my 2004 explorer cluster. What should I do?

unplug some wiring under the hood. it will light right up for ya..

hah.. it should also come on when you first turn the key to the run position.

The "Check Engine Light"... or CEL has, literally a little diagram of the ENGINE shape... Sorry to be crass... but if you are so "simple" that an illuminated engine isn't warning enough! (I know... big word for small Cabasa)

Welcome aboard!! :salute:

As stated by rhauf, the Check Engine Light will be illuminated when you turn the key to the run position. The location of the light is contained in your owner's manual. If you don't have an owner's manual, Dead Link Removed.

Here is a picture from the owner's manual with the location of the light. It says Service Engine Soon when lit:

Hope this helps out! :D:thumbsup:
