i cant decide.

I agree with Logan. It depends on where you drive the veh. It will look good either way but sure wont drive the same. When you lower the mods are somewhat more limited and therefore less expensive in the long run. Engine swaps excepted.
Have fun and enjoy the ride but, as my old man used to say, "Don't pay too great a price for the fun you thing your going to have."

back in the bay area about 15 years ago i knew a guy about your age who had a prety nice slammed B-2000, with a big stereo. he traded it in for a 4x4 Toy with a BIG lift... but didn't realize that they don't drive the same when you are a foot taller.

he was racing someone else by the local HS, passed them on the curve and rolled the Toy.... he went thru the windshield, busted out most of his teeth, put a big dent in his skull, tore off most of one ear and is paralized from the waist down. now he drives a wheelchair and a POS minivan with a hand throtle and handicapped plates. he also has a mini elevator to get him up the stairs in his mom's condo.

race on the streets and you can have a cool ride like him.

I also say go with what suits your needs and your taste. I would never think of lowering a SUV or a truck just because where I'm from that's umm not what we do. But hey it's your ride go with what you like. I'll also add my .02 about street racing. I think it's stupid because it's just a bunch of ego freaks that don't know how to drive. They have a fast car and automatically think they can take the corner at 80 but when they turn the wheel it's like they're on ice. Don't get me wrong on either end, I love racing and speed and sweet highly modified(I mean more than just a type R sticker and coffee can muffler) cars, but leave it on the track or try to get a sanctioned race going because that sweet car isn't going to do you much good when you take out that little kid on a bike and you're sitting in prison.

Mikeresin,
Nobody actuially asked the most important question. Is the sport a two wheel drive or a four wheel drive? If your not going off road and your tossing around lowering the truck, why would you lift a two wheel drive truck? (other than looks) As for stability mine has a 4" lift and "feels" more stable than the stock setup. The suspention is alot stiffer. But I wouldn't really try to do any high speed corners. ( thats what I have a car for).

its a 4x4
i think i am going to lower it. no more then about an inch. i dont want it slammed on the ground, i just want it a little more stable.

if you want stability, urethane bushings for the swaybars, better shocks and better tires will probably be better than lowering it.

i agree... lowering will help, and it's hard to say what will make the most difference, but definitely other mods to the shocks, sway bar and tires as well as the lowering will have the best effect if all done together.

hmmm ok thanks guys. im actually going to buy new tires today.
from haveing broken sway bar brackets on the front and rear for months my tires wore uneven and my car is scary on the freeway.
