I can't understand this

Ok I think in future posts that I will no longer post my email addy..... This is the problem.... Lately I am getting email from people that have visited the board they ask me for my AIM on the pretense that they are interested in talking about Explorers and about mine.... What they really want to do is argue with me.... they ask me about my mods... I tell them what I can.... then they argue incesstantly that I don't know what I am doing....that I am lying... that I shouldn't be talking about my Explorer because I don't do all the mods myself stupid things like that ... I never pretended to be an expert at anything... as a matter of fact I state that I am only learning and that the only thing that I can contest to is what is done to my Explorer.... and what I have personally seen done to others (explorers and rangers).... remember guys

No one knows everything ....but everyone knows something...

If you see something that I've said or done does not sound right it may be because I am just learning... lingo was never my best subject and what is always told to me sometimes never gets past the eardrum....but I am open to constructive critisisum and I always jump at a chance to learn something valuable....just don't start off an online barrage of Q&A and then attack me... sheesh

Karol, I can't think of anyone that's for real that would do something like this. I've had a few people write me regarding my truck, mods and with questions but there were some with nothing but BS that I don't even listen to. I was just talking about it on some other thread. There are people here and of that I'm sure that don't even own an Explorer but they come here since they have nothing better to do with their life. These so called experts usually are the ones causing all the commotion. That's their purpose in life. There's nothing wrong with asking questions though.

Don't listen to those people. I wish there was a black list we could come-up with people to ban (sic! I shouldn't say that......).

Karol, there is a button on your keyboard you can use if you don't like the e-mail someone sent you...."delete".
use it...

I'm sorry to hear about that Karol. From your posts, you seem like a pretty nice person. I can't imagine why anyone would decide to harass you. I have had problems in the past, not exactly like yours, but close enough, with people harassing me thru both email and AIM. What i've ended up doing is creating multiple email accounts. That allows me to sort of screen my mail, since I have a good idea of who knows which addresses. As far as the AIM thing, I have one name that i tell anybody who asks, and another that only my family and my girlfriend know. That way, if somebody starts bugging me on AIM, I just switch to the other name for a while, until they forget about me.

Good luck dealing with these jerks, and remember that there are a lot more decent people on this board than there are bad ones. It's really pathetic that some people have nothing better to do...

I've had that problem before also. I just don't want to believe that even this board has members that are so f**ked up that all they want to do is argue with me about stuff I have done/want to do to my truck. "that's stupid, that won't work, what a waste of time and money, do this, do that instead, here's a better idea, blah, blah, blah" I think they're just jealous that my truck is better than their's! HA!!

I will only add people to my ICQ list that I have had either e-mail or forum corresponence with on a fairly regualr basis. I don't have time to be harassed or to anwser questions which are best asked here. I recieve ICQ request a lot from people on the board who I have never chatted with. I just ignore the requests. Be careful who add to your ICQ or AOL list.

There was an instance a while back of a member causing problems with other members and other boards and bringing those people here to argue. This person has been banned to the best ability of Rick and Crew.

It's unfortunate that you are getting this kind of treatment, but I would just disregard comments like that and move on. By all means, if you feel that you would rather not have you email available then take it off of your signiture and/or profile.

Take it with a grain of salt. They are most likely young kids trying to get a rise out of you all.

For the most part we take pride in ourselves and the work/mods we have. Just because you don't do them yourself doesn't matter. Rick had all his work done in a shop, but that doesn't mean he is clueless. Some people may know how to do it, but just don't have the tools, time or facilities to capacitate such mods.

I hope your future experiences are better.

Never have met you, but then I haven't met a lot of people on here, but I still like to hear your opinion on stuff. That doesn't mean I have to do it, but it's nice to get other peoples ideas.

I say just ignore them people and they will go away. If they have nobody to argue back to them they won't have nothing more to say.

I was also on another forum that had that prob. I would think that some of the people that you have had this issue with feel threatened that you are a female. The fact that you may know more or have done more with your truck belittles them in some way. I agree, this is the reason that I joined Elite explorers two days ago. I don't feel that I will get slack from people here as long as you try to have fun! As I said before good luck and have fun!

hehe there ...... No really guys I don't think its any of you guys at all..... I just happen to think its alot of "fly by nights" that come onto the site....pick up on the fact that I'm female and decide....hhhmm "mayhap I should give her a little test".... I ignore it usually....but for some reason it seems to have escalated in the past week or so..... I just don't understand why they would bother unless they felt they needed a boost themselves...... but it's all good....who knows.....maybe in a few years I will be really into learning how to sew or something (LOL its a joke between my b/f and I)...... but hey...I really like my truck... and I want to own it forever... and if I'm going to do that...I may as well learn all I can about it......then well......it flew right into extreme madness from there.....I blame it on my b/f who is forever modifying his Ranger and is sick of me asking him all these questions.... so I ask you guys LOL now he looks at my truck and says things like "you need to get a minivan....why don't you take up sewing?"....etc.. He is joking of course (or he better be) ...but I really think he had no idea what a monster he has made....sometimes I think he is impressed (because he doesn't help me with any of the mods) but he would never admit it... So thanks guys for being helpful ...

LOL no he is just joking....he knows me better than that....but one thing is for sure.... he is one guy that doesn't take his girl offroading..... I mean he really,really feels strongly that "its a guy thing" I just shrug and say "whatever" and go with others.... he doesn't like it one bit...(I guess because I mostly go with guys) ....but oohh well.... I tell him "a little violin plays sad music just for you" if he would change his mind and take me with him then it shouldn't be a problem....
