Well I got my 96 EB Explorer last Friday, and it only took me till Wensday to *^&% something up! My EB came with a cd changer and a cell phone as origonal equipment. The phone was vintage 90's and totally useless, so I decided to remove it to save space, and neaten up the truck. First I removed the phone then cut the wire going to the phone. Then I removed the remote hands free microphone that was mounted by the driver visor on the left post. Then I pulled the wire through the post to where it came out by the emergency break and connected to a bigger wire via a plug in connector. I figured this bigger wire to be for the phone as well, so i removed the 2 wires that went into the fuse block, and snipped the ground wire, then cut the thick wire itself. Then to my surprise............ no radio and no on board computer(the one for fuel milage etc.) It seems this big wire was the cd changer connector. Can anyone tell me how the wires reconnect to the electrical system. I'm ok splicing the wires I cut, but not sure about the green, the red, and the yellow/black. Thanks

Just an update. I reconnected the wires on the drivers side. The red and green wires had inline fuses and went to the fuse block. Now the radio/cd works. The yellow/black wire had no inline fuse...... and I'm guessing it went to the fuse block too. That seems to be for the door chimes. Still no obd computer. That must be from the other wire I cut.........the one that went directly into the phone. Any ideas????????

Anoter update. The fused red wire and the yellow/black wire both seem to go to the radio-cd changer. The fused green wire is the question. I still am without the message center(I mistakenly called it the obd before). I am going to have to recheck where I spliced the green wire into the big wire. If that dosent work, Im going to reconnect what I thought was a remote microphone for the phone. By the way... I reconnected the phone and that didn't do anything except give power to the phone. Any help is greatly appreciated.
