No but seriously are you gunan paint anything under the engine compartment? i tihnk that would turn out nice, since you painted alot of other stuff......
I don't know how that cylinder type air box works but can't you just cut a BIG square hole instead of lots of little holes? It's kind of like a half-open air filter box.
look at what bill kemp has done, you can completely remove the front of the box and clamp the filter directly to the back half by tightening up the clamp tolerances a little bit
Just remember, when cutting holes in the stock air box or using an open element air filter, you run high risk of water injestion and more importantly, you are drawing in underhood air - really hot underhood air! Hot air leads to lower power, due to maximum compressed air/fuel charge prior to detonation. Basically, you get less modelcules of air into your cylinder. That is why you generally have a little more power in the winter.
