hi guys tonight I dropped a 7/16 but and bolt it fell somewhere in the fan shrouded area. Do I chance it or preform surgery and pull it apart to look for it.
Second opinion
Lifting my front while under the van I see the shocks are outside the coil springs. My Cherokee chief was like that and I had air shocks in front for the weight of my snow plow. Many straight axle older trucks had air shocks for the plow. What do you think.

I don't think that the bolt will cause a problem. It's not like it fell inside the engine or the transmission.

I've never seen an option for air adjustable front shocks. Gabriel makes air adjustable rear shocks called Hi-Jackers.

http://gabriel.com I saw that I had red air shocks on the chief. That might be a snow commander package. I went to gaberal site they have a great pdf site with every car size of shock size including mounting points and size. It's going to take work to cross reference what air shocks will mount in the Aerostar. It's a top pin and cross pin bottom. Just need to get the right size stud size.and gaberal has those size listed.
I was worried that if the bolt launched off the fan before hitting the ground I lose a cooling system peice or trans cooler

Up date on air shocks. I spoke to gaberal tec support today. I gave them the mount points for a front shocks. They have an air shock with those mounts but advise me against it. He said if I had a straight axles it's different than independent suspension. The valveing for a straight axle rear and independent are different and you might run into problems with the engine running. But he mentioned coil over kit. He said the coil over will allow you to raise or lower the front of the Aerostar and do away with the bad coil springs. You just need the pound rates and buy according. Aerostar eawd front springs are 1,853 pounds. Each spring is rated by it self at 600 pounds. So you just need to by coil overs rated at 600 pounds each. He also suggested a-1 shocks they make mussel car, street rod and anything else no one makes shocks for.
