or does anyone know were theres a body lift right up on this site. I've been searching for a while, I'd like to run 33-10.50 or 33 12.50 on rock crawlers 3.75 back spaceing.
can I get 33 10.50 on stock rims or rims with 4-3.75 backspaceing.
Those are off of the FAQ on the main Explorer4x4.com page. Body lifts is a very frequent topic of conversation and you should be able to find more than enough information out there.
and you don't need a write up or anything from the site really it come with great directions but you need to read them through carefully to do it right.
i'm running 33x 12.5x15 mud terrains one 15x8 black simulation bead lock rims i think they are stock back spacing too. and with my body lift i need to trim alittle in the frond inner fender wells. to make them fit when turning. but they fit good.
the lift kit come with lift brackets for the front and rear bumpers.
so there is no space between the body and bumpers.
I believe that it is just a tad more than the superlift. I wasnt too impressed with the pics of it though. I am planning on doing the superlift in a few months here. Just orderd new gearing and I am gonna pick out a locker soon also. I would get the lift sooner but I am gonna need bigger tires so that means I am gonna hafta save about 700$ extra.
Check the RCD thread. There is a lot of information in it, but it is kinda long
Rocky Mountain Suspensions is selling the RCD kit for like $1300 which is $100-200 cheaper than the superlift and with the super lift you might need a new front drive shaft. Also, the RCD kit is by far superior... Coil overs vs. TBars?... hmmm, thats a tough one
Originally posted by CoryL I thought everyone wanted to get rid of the torsion bars for better clearance. Now you have the control arm crossmember strut braces hanging down just as far...
And you are still limited on travel by the CV shafts.
CoryL says it best. Basically if you look in this link:http://explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=85548&pagenumber=1 You will see that the control arm crossmembers hang just as far down as the torsion bars do with the superlift. Also with the superlift it is made for your vehicle whereas the RCD kit is not. If you buy the RCD kit I sure as hell hope that you know how to fabricate parts because no 4x4 shop is gonna install it for you.
Hokie- What makes the coilovers so much superior?? I dont understand?
