okay heres the new noise...

i cant varify if it makes this noise while the engine is running because its kind of faint. when i shut the truck off i hear a whump whump sound from the front right corner. sounds like say... take a suitcase full of clothes and slowly let it fall down a flight of wooden stairs. not a reall regular sound either, no beat. weirdest damn sound. only seems to occur when the truck is warm

funny eh?

Radiator over flow tank...

He is exactly correct. The exact same thing happens to my 91. I took it to the dealer, and they said that it is just something that it does. It won't hurt anything, and it is perfectly normal. Well, not real normal, but it isn't anything that needs to be fixed. Just something that needs to be ignored. Just reguard it as a little thing that your "X" likes to do.

actually it is just backpressure in the heater core. The over flow tank is on the drivers side.

its definatly passenger side

doesn't sound like water flowing or dripping or anything

what do you mean heater core backpressure??

I don't know the specifics of it, but you do notice it more after you have run the heater. The heater core gets pressure from the radiator fluid, and when you turn the truck off, the pressure tries to flow back to equilize itself. Imagine a two liter bottle filled with water. Turn it completely upside down to dump the water out, and it makes the same noise, just a little deeper in the "X". Don't worry about it. It doesn't need to be fixed. It only happens when you turn the truck off.

damn....

i guess i will have to try harder guys you're too smart for me :) it definatly is the heater core. i put my hand on the box and felt it.
