i took out my hella 500's but i still have the switch installed. its in the center console just next to the cup holder on the driver side. any ideas on what to do with it? if i take it out ill have a hole there. ill probably leave it in, but i figure if its gonna stay there, i might as well hook it up to something - anyone got any ideas? the only thing i could think of is to hook it up to my radar detector.

thanks in advance.

Yeah, radar detector would be cool, but I'm gonna wire mine so it comes on with the ignition. Ever thought of some interior accent lighting, some small neons maybe?? I'm installing two under my dash next weekend. Or maybe some aux reverse lights. I just installed mine last weekend. Just a thought.

Neon’s would look pretty sweet in your Xplorer, you should take a peak at my pictures; granted they are now outdated, due to my over whelming addiction with buying them and installing them (I now have ten LOL) but I DO have a picture of one of them. It's installed in the headliner and then wired to my backseat "reading" lights. It's doesn't matter where I drive and how far, I always turn my neon’s on, makes seeing in my car real easy, and it doesn't make seeing out the window at night hard at all!

Good luck to you, if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me: pskingle@home.com

thanks for the suggestions guys. peter the neons look cool on your truck, but i dont think neons are for me.

i would like to see a pic of where the switch is or maybe a description cuz i am looking for a place to put a switch for my underbody neons when i get them this summer

If not neons how about Hydraulics!!! You could add some more and make it bounce!!! :)

heh, hydraulics. anyway, as soon as i get my truck back from the shop (should be tomorrow afternoon - the theft deterant system is being a pain in the a$$) i will a take pic and post it here.

keep the suggestions coming :)

Alright, if not Neon or Hydros how about Rockets or oil slicks, something along the line of James Bond!! Seriously though, one thing that I have done on past vehicles and will do to the Ex eventually is I put an external reverse light on a switch. Something like a small oofroad light or fog light. This helps not only when backing up but if your out setting up camp after dark or something.

that reverse light sounds a little far-fetched, but i do like this "oil slick" idea :)

tbomb, the reverse light idea isn't as far fetched as you think. I suggested that in my first post because I've added aux reverse lights to my truck. Check out the links in my signature line to see some pics of them.

stephen s,

your lights look good, but i was being facetious, heh :) (im aware that the reverse lights are more realistic than the oil slicks :) )

anyway, i dont really have any need for aux. reverse lights.

the way im thinking right now is to just hook up my radar detector to it this summer, unless i get a better idea. ill get a pic up of the loction tomorrow.

sorry these are so big guys. the switch lights up at night only when its on.
