I have 98 Explorer. The radio and clock display does not illuminate.

The radio and clock the display does not light. Radio and cd work fine just no display. I disconnected the battery for several minutes to reset the radio. No help. The dealer tells me the bulbs are not a owner replaceable item ?? Any suggestions?

Search, I've got the same problem but I know it's a common issue and there is a fix for it around here somewhere. Personally I've learned to just deal w/ it.

Same problem here when I got my 98, I just changed the radio.

For like $70 bucks it comes back good as new with a lifetime warranty.
